This is a report of the provings done on 16 species of plants on the island Lamu, in front of the coast of Kenya. The provings were done in the week of 14 to 19 march 2011. The species taken were growing on the island of Lamu, mostly indigenous, like magrove species from the family Rhizophoraceae. The idea of developing new remedies from families that till now are less known or completely unknown. The proving form was that of a trituration proving. This has the advantage that the remedies are already potentized to C3 after the proving and ready for further potentisation.

Summary
This is a report of the provings done on 16 species of plants on Lamu, in Kenya. The provings were done in 2011. The species taken were growing in the region, mostly indigenous. The species were selected with the idea of developing new remedies from families that till now are less known or completely unknown. The proving form was that of a trituration proving. This has the advantage that the remedies are already potentised to C3 after the proving and ready for further potentisation.

Trituration proving, 13-3-2011, Lamu
Provers: Prover 2, Prover 8, Prover 14, Prover 18.
Notes: Prover 2.
On our way to our house on Lamu Prover 2 saw heaps of plants lying on the beach in
the blazing sun. That night, walking between the houses, we saw long vines stretched on
the beach; “Would they have thorns”’. So we stepped over them cautiously. Next day to
the central house for proving the long vines appeared to be the same as lying on heaps:
‘Dessert Flower’. The plants were still lying there in heaps and the gardener was taking
more out. In spite of the sun they were still flowering. This wondered Prover 2 and made
him feel sorry. So he took some of the branches and flowers and told this to Prover 10:
“So, why don’t you prove it?” Humorous, and a nice idea.
So with Prover 14, Prover 18 and Prover 8 we started the trituration. In fact Prover 2
started, focussed as he was on the plant. The milk sugar was sticking to the bowl very
much. In the mean time, they were sitting not far from Prover 19, who prepared a plant
for the next group, Prover 2’s attention was attracted to the other plant. That bothered
him; he wanted focus on his own plant.
The others were discussing about an other spot to triturate. Prover 2 was not interested
being focussed and did not want to be disturbed. This all takes him away from ‘his plant’.
On trite Prover 2 has a caring feeling for the plant, he wants to do it well (it has to do
with the heaps of cut plants on the beach, lying in the sun).
Prover 8 wants to do the triturate very accurately.
Prover 2 feels a depth; not really a hole; something like a funnel. He is in a kind of fun-
nel, but it is not dark. The walls of it are rather light, with pink or lilac spots, the color of
the flower.
Prover 2 sinks in some grief, with shivers on his back, mostly under his shoulder blades.
He feels sympathetic, is focussed on emotions.
His fingers are sticky from the plant, the plant is sticky (like it winds around other
plants?)
Prover 19 comes to make pictures of the plant. And Prover 10 comes to check how
we are doing. Prover 2 feels deeply disturbed by them, he does not want them around:
“Leave me alone, I am busy! I am irritated, slightly angry. This is my world, that is where
I am!”
Observation: Prover 8 was triturating intensely, powerful. Prover 18 now is triturating
slowly and very intensely; it is almost impressive for the attention or the tension she has.
Prover 2 will be the next; and he longs to get rid of this intensity she has with the plant.
He wants to trite lightly and powerfully; when it will be his turn…
In other groups they laugh, are happy. We are not, we are silent and focussed
Its almost Prover 2’s turn. He gets rid of the depth, the concentration. For a moment he
has the opportunity to let loose, look around; he gets some air.
Bur Prover 18 is very(!) deep (heavy?, struggling?, grieving?)
Prover 2 thinks: “This is just the first round of the trituration and I lived through so
much already”.
Prover 2’s trituration: (2nd of first potency)
On, On, it Has to. This while he is scraping the bowl; first with short strokes, small

LamuProvings.indd 21 06-10-11 15:38:18squares but intensely and thoroughly. He thinks: “Intensely but small strokes, really not
efficient”. Later his movements are getting more wild. It has to be done, it has to. Keep
going on! It is as if I want to go through ‘it’, the bowl but something else at the same
time. As if he is digging in, smoothing like a kind of flat funnel, a hole.
There is an anger in his trituration and scraping. Almost a blind forcing through.
Only in the last part there is a relief: “I am through (it?)”.
Prover 8
Later Prover 8 is funny, walking around our table, kind of dancing while scraping. But
this disturbs Prover 2 somewhat too, she is so lightly; funny and irritating at the same
moment. It is not right, it does not fit the situation.
There is heaviness in Prover 2 (us?), silence; he is turned in himself. Then he says to
himself: “It is just a little (?) plant, but there is so much in it”.
Prover 8 keeps walking around us, almost mesmerizing, voodoo, spiritual.
Prover 18: “I almost get crazy from the tension, charge in all of us”.
Now Prover 2 is afraid Prover 18 gets crazy, so charged, burdened. A minute ago she
really was on the verge.
He wants to protest against it. “It is just a plant…”, as a denial of the tension, burden
and charge.
We are almost at 2/3 of the first round of trituration.
Prover 19 comes; ”You were to add the second part of sugar earlier”. He says it very
22 22
LamuProvings.indd 22 06-10-11 15:38:20polite/cautious. That is like he is; or is it because how we are?
We are in turmoil: ‘We did not do it right. It should have been done differently. And we
tried all we could. It feels burdensome, we should have done better”.
We discuss: in some way it feels better to talk (about it), it distracts. And at the same time
it is not right, does not fit our situation.
Almost ready. Only still to add the sugar that we missed. Confusion is our situation; but
also Prover 10 and Prover 19 are somewhat confused.
We laugh, especially about the fact that ‘others’ (Prover 10 and Prover 19) make mistakes.
Prover 19 is busy with his i-phone: it distracts me. It interferes, irritates. I feel a kind
resurrection, rebelliousness in me.
Prover 18: “I am making a hole”.
Later again: “Distraction again, it distracts. It takes me from my path, my line, my focus,
my focus has a kind of funnel, tunnel perspective, I am not in a tunnel, really. But I am
not apt to leave this track (tunnel) either; I want, need to go on, further, finish it. Do not
disturb me!”.
And we laugh and feel relieve again when we are together again, the others having left
us.
We have a discussion about ‘who is in charge’.
Finally Prover 2 can relax a little again, just a short while. Because Prover 18 has her
turn.
